Paris and Rome

I went on a trip to Europe a couple of months ago and visited France and Italy, two countries known for their fashion. I obviously ended up noticing what people wear, and the subtle differences between Paris and Rome fashion. Two short days in each city are not enough to observe much, and I may be wrong in my perceptions, but here are the quick mental notes I made.

Parisian fashion is known to be subtle and understated, and that’s exactly what I found. Italy was a little bolder and I saw the Italian women wear a lot of prints, as against Parisian women who seem to prefer solids or stripes. Girls in Rome wore their puffer jackets with cinched waists, while Parisian girls wore more loose, woollen coats. I also saw a lot of colourful eye make up in Rome, but in Paris, it was mostly just mascara and lipstick. Ankle boots were common in both places, but Parisian ones were simple, with slim heels, while Roman ones were sometimes embellished with chains and faux fur.

That’s it about winter fashion, maybe I should go back in the summer for more such observations!
